Police chase results in road closure

An early morning police chase resulted in a crash that has closed a central Toledo road, says a Toledo police dispatcher. 

The crash occurred about 2:20 a.m. on Oakwood Avenue, between the intersections of Clinton Street and Smead Avenue, after the suspect in the chase crashed into a utility pole, knocking power lines down. 

The suspect attempted to flee on foot after the crash, but was apprehended by police. 

According to Toledo Edison, crews were on scene to attempt a repair of the downed power lines and work should be completed by noon today.
