An arrest warrant was issued today for a Toledo man wanted in an early morning stabbing in West Toledo.

Toledo police are looking for Devonte Blanks, 20, of 1829 Marlow Rd., in the stabbing of Arnold Oliver III, 29, of Burnham Avenue. He has been charged with felonious assault.

The stabbing occurred at about 5 a.m. today at a duplex at 641 Eleanor Ave., police said. Mr. Oliver was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with stab wounds to his left thigh and his left lower back, police said. A hospital spokesman said she had no information about a person by that name.

Police responding to a report of a stabbing arrived at the duplex and found the victim sitting in a kitchen suffering from stab wounds, according to a police report.

Police were told that the suspect and the victim argued and then fought outside the duplex after the suspect allegedly had been calling the victim's girlfriend -- who is also the suspect's ex-girlfriend -- all night. A metal knife was recovered at the scene, police said in the report.

There was no word of arrests.
