Child struck by vehicle in East Toledo

A child was struck by a vehicle at Woodville Road and Nevada Street on Toledo's east side today, authorities said.

The child was taken to Mercy St. Charles Hospital in Oregon with unknown injuries, Toledo police said. The child's name and condition were not released.

The crash occurred about 5:55 a.m., closing the intersection. Traffic at the intersection returned to normal by about 7:30 a.m., at which time police crews left the scene, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
