Toledo police investigate cutting of phone cables

Toledo police are investigating several incidents last month in which telephone cables to West Toledo businesses were cut.

Cables were cut outside at least 11 businesses in the 2400 block of Laskey Road, the 2300 block of West Sylvania Avenue, and the 2800 block of Tremainsville Road between Jan. 19 and Jan. 25, according to police reports released Friday. “In one incident, the suspect was approached and asked what he was doing and the suspect advised he was cutting the cable to protect us from aliens,” the reports said.

No arrests have been made.
