Vacant North Toledo home heavily damaged in intense fire

An vacant North Toledo house was heavily damaged in an intense fire tonight.

With heavy flame reported from the basement, firefighters early on were ordered out of the house and aimed water at it from ground level and from aerial ladders.

The blaze was reported just after 6 p.m. at 615 Locust St. The fire was declared under control about 7:05 p.m.

A fire investigator responded to the scene -- as did Toledo building officials, to make sure the fire-weakened structure would be demolished.

The two-story, brick veneer house was built in 1907 and is owned by Vicki Lynn Robinson of Stockton, Calif., according to Lucas County auditor's records.
