CECIL, Ohio -- One woman was killed and another seriously injured when their car was struck by a tractor trailer at Paulding County Road 87 and U.S. 24 in Crane Township, troopers at the Van Wert post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

The passenger in the car, Kayla Bidlack, 30, of Cecil, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, Tiffini Aldrich, 28, also of Cecil, was believed to be six months pregnant, troopers said. She was flown to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind., with life-threatening injuries. Her condition was not available late Thursday.

Troopers said Ms. Aldrich was northbound on County  Road 87 about 5:25 p.m. and started across U.S. 24 when her car was struck by a westbound semi driven by Roy Pierre, 44, of Quebec in Canada.

Everyone was wearing a seat belt, troopers said, and alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Cecil is about 70 miles southwest of Toledo.
