ADRIAN -- One man was arrested in a Renfew Avenue house late this afternoon, ending a standoff that lasted more than 12 hours, according to WTVG-TV, Channel 13, The Blade's media partner.

Adrian police responded about 2:45 a.m. when a suicidal person was reported to be in the house. Officers were met by a man who, police said, used a firearm to threaten them and who refused to come out or to let anyone inside.

A police negotiator was in communication with the man, authorities said.

Michigan State Police sent a robotic camera into the house, which was shot at and broken, Channel 13 reported. A second robotic camera located the man in the basement. A police tactical team entered the house afterward, Channel 13 reported. A woman and at least two children left the house.

Adrian, the Lenawee County seat, is about 35 miles northwest of Toledo
