Sweep nets $89,000 in drugs, 111 suspects

A three-day police sweep in Toledo netted more than $89,000 in illegal drugs, 111 suspects, and various firearms.

The Toledo Police Department conducted the citywide operation, Dirty Boy IV, from Wednesday through Friday, according to a news release issued by Chief Derrick Diggs. The sweep is done annually in remembrance of late Detective Keith Dressel and other Toledo police officers who have given their lives in the line of duty.

Drugs confiscated during the sweep included: 4 ¼ lbs. of marijuana, valued at $6,775; 188 pills – scheduled pharmaceuticals, valued at $3,240; 4.1 ounces of heroin, valued at $76,410; 20.5 grams of cocaine, valued at $2,700.

Also seized in were $26,353 in U.S. currency, seven handguns, and five long guns.

During the operation 111 people were charged with a total of 95 felony and 66 misdemeanor offenses.
