Tips are needed to find assailants in August slaying on Prospect Street

Toledo police are seeking information in the August shooting death of Saveon Childress.

Childress, 27, was shot multiple times as he and his twin brother, Jowan, walked on Prospect Street near Hoag Street just after 10 p.m. Aug. 19. Police said the two men had been approached by two men on bicycles.

Childress was pronounced dead at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.

In a Toledo police report, the assailants are both described as black, between 16 and 20 years old, and both about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and weighing 170 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call Toledo Crime Stoppers. Callers may remain anonymous and could qualify for a cash reward.
