Adrian man dies in crash on U.S. 20

LYONS, Ohio - An Adrian, Mich. man was killed today when his pickup truck collided with a truck pulling an empty tank trailer on State Rt. 109 in Fulton County's Royalton Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Andrew Emery, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene. Robert Hightower, the driver of the truck, was not hurt.

Troopers said Mr. Emery was north on State Rt. 109 about 5:15 p.m. when he failed to yield for the stop sign at U.S. 20 and struck the rear tandem axle of Mr. Hightower's eastbound rig.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Troopers said the crash is under investigation but alcohol is believed to be a factor.
