Bond has been set at $250,000 for a 31-year-old Toledo man charged with felonious assault for allegedly shooting another man in the chest during a fight in a South Toledo alley on Saturday.

A preliminary hearing date for Corey L. Riley, 31, of 4429 Burnham Ave. has been scheduled for 9 a.m. March 19 in Toledo Municipal Court. He was being held in the Lucas County jail late Monday.

According to reports, Toledo police responded to a shooting at about 4:40 p.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of Prouty Avenue.

Two witnesses told police that the suspect and Victor Hunt, 46, also of Toledo, were scuffling, when the suspect allegedly pulled out a pistol and shot Mr. Hunt.

The victim was taken by private vehicle to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital.

Hospital officials have not yet released any information about Mr. Hunt, but police on Saturday indicated that his injury did not appear to be life threatening.
