A Toledo man who led police on a 30-minute pursuit throughout the city on Saturday night is facing multiple charges, including kidnapping, felonious assault, resisting arrest, and failure to comply.

A fifth charge, harassment by inmate, was added after the suspect spit on an officer during booking, police Sgt. Joe Heffernan said.

Eric D. Parks, 120 Sierra Ct., was taken into custody after Toledo police pursued him through South Toledo, West Toledo, and North Toledo before road spikes were used to stop the fleeing vehicle at Ravine Park Village in East Toledo, according to police reports.

Police were responding to a report of domestic violence near Hill Avenue and Byrne Road about 9:45 p.m. when the suspect drove off.

During the pursuit, police said a female tried to get out of the vehicle, but she was pulled back in. The suspect was striking the woman, also a Toledo resident, when the vehicle came to a stop, police said. The victim was treated in Toledo Hospital and released.
