Freezing rain Monday caused havoc for morning commuters in many areas of northwest Ohio, prompting numerous minor accidents and causing vehicles to slip and slide off roads.

Fifteen vehicles were involved in scattered crashes along northbound I-75 near exit 161 in Wood County. It tied up morning traffic for two hours, but no serious injuries were reported, according to Findlay’s Ohio Highway Patrol post.

Sandusky, Bowling Green, and Berea Ohio Highway Patrols also reported numerous crashes and slide-offs.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a chance of snow showers today, mainly after 4 p.m., with a high near 34.
