Suspect in Thursday stabbing death considered armed, dangerous

3/22/2013

Toledo police are looking for a 33-year-old Toledo man who they believe stabbed to death Christopher Ogden earlier this week.

John Garcia, Jr. should be considered armed and dangerous, police said today.

He is described by police as white, 5 feet, 9 inches, 225 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Mr. Garcia's last-known address was not available, but charges filed against him in 2012 list his address in the 900 block of East Broadway Street.

Ogden, 40, was found stabbed to death Thursday morning at his residence on Woodford Street. Brenda Watts, 36, was also injured in the incident, though it's unclear if Mr. Garcia caused her wounds.

Ogden, according to an autopsy, died of multiple sharp-force injuries to his head, torso, and arms. It's unclear what was the motive for the slaying.

Ogden's death is the third homicide handled by Toledo police this year. All three have been stabbings.

Arrests were made in the other two deaths.
