Mich. man dies of accidental gunshot to the head

MONROE -- A 30-year-old man died of an accidental gunshot to the head after a firearm discharged unexpectedly Saturday evening in a Frenchtown Township home, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's office.

Michael Bradly Rawlins was taken to Oakwood Southshore Medical Center in Trenton, Mich., where he later died, according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities were called to the 6300 block of North Monroe Street about 5:45 p.m. Deputies and rescue workers found the victim in the kitchen and said he had been struck when a 39-year-old Monroe man accidentally discharged a firearm he was handling in the residence.
