Body found in Ash Township

CARLETON, Mich. - Michigan State Police are investigating a body that was found tonight in Monroe County's Ash Township. 

Troopers from the Monroe post report that a motorist saw the body in a ditch on Newberg Road near Annabell Road and called 911 about 5:30 p.m.

Authorities said the body appears to be that of a black female, but the age and other details are still unknown.

The matter remains under investigation.
