A Swanton man was sentenced on Monday to five years in prison for his role in a large-scale psychedelic mushroom growing operation.

Mikael Stiles, 32, of 5360 Secor Rd., was sentenced by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Dean Mandros, who also suspended his driver’s license for three years.

Stiles pleaded guilty on Feb. 4 to illegal manufacture of drugs, aggravated possession of drugs, and aggravated trafficking of drugs.

He pleaded guilty and was convicted Monday of an additional charge of tampering with evidence.

Stiles and five others were arrested last year after authorities seized nearly 137 pounds of mushrooms from various locations in Toledo and Whitehouse.
