The fourth of five men charged in shooting death of a South Toledo gym owner pleaded guilty today in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Devonte Harris, 19, of 1326 Gordon St., was to have gone on trial May 7 but instead entered the plea to aggravated murder before Judge James Bates, who scheduled sentencing for May 14.

Harris admitted to robbing Joseph Lengel, 57, owner of CrossFit Intensity Gym, as Mr. Lengel arrived for work the morning of Nov. 19. Harris and two others were waiting for a different victim – one they were told would be carrying cash and drugs – when they mistakenly confronted Mr. Lengel.

From Mr. Lengel, they only stole an iPad.

Three other suspects in the case have entered guilty pleas, while the final suspect, Deitrekk Boone, 19, of 1416 Beecham St., remains at-large.
