Toledo fire officials have confirmed that a house that exploded Thursday in North Toledo was from a gas leak, but are still investigating a specific cause.
The property at 1448 N. Huron St., caused $40,000 worth of damage. Captain John Kaminski from Toledo Fire and Rescue said the department expects to determine what caused the leak n the next few days.
Before the house collapsed, several neighbors told The Blade they saw someone running from the home carrying a hot-water tank. The property is owned by North River Homes, which is part of a United North tax-credit housing project.
The house has been vacant for a week and a half.
