Carey, Ohio, man killed as motorcycle hits pole

VANLUE, Ohio — A 25-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning after he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a utiltily pole along a rural Hancock County highway, authorities said.

Timothy E. Moore, Jr., of Carey, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene on State Rt. 568 east of State Rt. 330 in Amanda Township, the Hancock County Sheriff's Office reported. Deputies were called at 3:12 a.m.

Investigators said Mr. Moore was traveling eastbound when he lost control, left the road’s north side, and hit the pole. He was thrown from the motorcycle.

The crash remained under investigation, Sgt. Mike Cortez said.
