Driver ejected from vehicle into Ottawa River

A Toledo man was killed today after being ejected from his vehicle and thrown into the Ottawa River, police said.

Christopher M. Solis, 25, of Berkley Drive, was driving a vehicle northbound on I-75 just after 1 a.m. when he approached the Berdan Avenue exit in West Toledo.

The victim's vehicle went left and up an embankment. Police said Mr. Solis then tried to turn right at an intersection, but struck a concrete barrier and bridge guardrail causing the vehicle to spin.

Mr. Solis was thrown from the car and into the river, suffering fatal injuries, police said.
