Community control ordered in stabbing

A Toledo man who stabbed another man over an ex-girlfriend was placed on community control for three years Monday by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Ruth Ann Franks.

Devonte Blanks, 21, of 1829 Marlow Rd. was ordered to spend the first three months of his probation in the Lucas County Work Release Program. He also was ordered to complete an anger management program, abstain from drugs and alcohol, and pay $500 in restitution and court costs.

Blanks pleaded guilty April 4 to attempted felonious assault for the June 30 attack on Arnold Oliver III, 29, at an Eleanor Avenue duplex.
