MONROE -- Authorities have identified an 8-year-old girl who died Monday after a two-vehicle collision on Telegraph Road in LaSalle Township as Skylar D. Lewis, of Genoa, Ohio.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Amanda Russell, 26, of Toledo, was driving a 2011 Ford Focus northbound on Telegraph Road, when her vehicle struck a 2008 Chrysler Town and County mini-van that was traveling eastbound on Wood Road. The mini-van was driven by Sue Black, 60, of Monroe.

Authorities said the mini-van stopped at a stop sign on Wood Road and crossed Telegraph Road when the collision happened.

Ms. Russell, Skylar, and a 4-year-old child and a 7-year-old child were transported to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. She was pronounced dead at the hospital; the conditions of Ms. Russell and the other two children were unavailable.

The sheriff's office declined to release the names of the surviving children.

The crash remains under investigation.
