Authorities defused a homemade bomb and removed a second one Thursday morning from a front yard in Sylvania.

The bombs did not explode and no one was injured, the Sylvania Police Department said.

Police, the Sylvania Township Fire Department, and the Toledo Bomb Squad responded after a Dellbrook Drive resident called authorities about 9 a.m. after noticing two 2-liter pop bottles in her yard.

One of the devices fizzled out and the bomb squad safely defused the other, authorities said.

The incident remained under investigation later Thursday.
