MONROE -- A fourth suspect being sought by police for a home invasion and abduction at an apartment in the 100 block of West Front Street this morning has been apprehended.

The incident resulted in a lockdown of Monroe Middle School and two private elementary schools for about three hours this morning while police searched for the suspects.

Three suspects were arrested about 8 a.m. near the home of a woman who was taken from her apartment earlier. The woman, who had been driven to the Newport, Mich., area and taken back to her home, was found near her home.

The fourth suspect managed to flee but was apprehended in Toledo near the intersection of Alexis and Telegraph roads about 4:30 p.m., Sgt. Charles F. McCormick IV of the Monroe Police Department reported.

All suspects are currently held in custody at the Monroe Police Department. Authorities declined to disclose their identities pending court appearances next week, Sergeant McCormick said.

The middle school, St. John Catholic School, and Trinity Lutheran School went on lock down shortly after 8 a.m. The lockdown was lifted about 10:30 a.m.
