State Rt. 2 was closed for more than two hours in Jerusalem Township after a traffic collision at the South Decant Road intersection damaged a utility pole.

The two-vehicle crash occurred about 1:20 p.m. Both drivers had minor injuries, with one transported to Mercy St. Charles Hospital and the other to Bay Park Hospital, said Tony Parasiliti, the Jerusalem Township fire chief.

Chief Parasiliti said low-hanging cables from the damaged pole were at risk of being snagged by tractor-trailers or other tall vehicles and had to be repaired before the highway's reopening, which occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m.
