A Toledo woman will be arraigned Friday on multiple charges, including a misdemeanor child endangerment charge after she allegedly left her 5-month-old in a car while she shopped at a Walmart in Oregon.

Michelle Emch, 30, of 3456 Maher St. was arrested Wednesday by Oregon police after she allegedly spent about 35 minutes in the store while the baby was in a car. Police said a caller reported seeing the baby in the parking lot of the Navarre Avenue store just after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The child was not harmed, police said. Ms. Emch was arrested on a first-degree misdemeanor charge of child endangerment and released on her own recognizance.

Oregon police pulled her over hours later, around 3 a.m. today, at Starr Avenue and Wheeling Street and cited her for safety belt violations for not restraining a 4-year-old and a baby. She was also cited for expired plates.

She is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges in Oregon Municipal Court.
