Wrong-way driver cited in Hancock Co.

WILLIAMSTOWN, Ohio — A 46-year-old female driver from Ada, Ohio, was accused of driving the wrong way on U.S. 30 near U.S. 68 in southern Hancock County on Thursday night. Peggy Gibson was cited by a Hancock County sheriff’s deputy for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and for driving in the wrong lane.

The sheriff’s office received several calls regarding a wrong-way driver on U.S. 30 about 9:20 p.m.

Reports indicated a sport utility vehicle was initially eastbound in the westbound lanes and then westbound in the eastbound lanes. When deputies arrived, they were told the vehicle had turned off U.S. 30 and was southbound on County Road 12.

A vehicle matching the description given in the wrong-way reports was stopped on County Road 1 and its driver, Ms. Gibson, was cited shortly after 10 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office.
