Sylvania Twp. firefighters host yearly pancake breakfast
6/17/2013Sylvania Firefighters IAFF Local 2243 will host its 13th annual Pancake Breakfast on Wednesday.
The event will be from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Toledo Elks Lodge #53, 3520 Holland-Sylvania Road. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door.
The union, which has about 68 active Sylvania Township Fire Department members, hosts the fund-raising event every year. Firemen will cook pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, and other breakfast items. Coffee, juice, and milk are included in the all-you-can-eat affair.
Raffle tickets for $1 will be available at the door for various prizes.
Each year the union donates about $8,000 to a chosen organization, with funds raised from the event and corporate donations. This year’s proceeds will go to Sylvania Area Family Services, Muscular Dystrophy Association or Jerry’s Kids, and other local charities.
