Sylvania Twp. fire chief heads new board of SCAT

The Sylvania Community Action Team has named a new executive board that includes the Sylvania Township fire chief as president.

Fire Chief Jeffrey Kowalski replaces Tracey Estep as president, and Julie Huffman will continue as vice president. Barbara Zona takes over as secretary from Mike Jones, and Treasurer Allyson France replaces George Fance.

The new officers have been members of the board for more than a year. Their terms will start July 1 and end June 20, 2015.

SCAT, a nonprofit organization that hosts several community programs and events throughout the Sylvania region that promote drug and alcohol free-lives, will be reviewing its expenditures and revenue sources in the next year, said Deb Chany, executive director.
