3 injured in Findlay crash

FINDLAY — Three people were transported to area hospitals after a three-vehicle crash in Blanchard Township on Friday, according to the Hancock County Sheriff's Office.

Dawn Williamson, 40, of Benton Ridge, Ohio, was flown to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. A hospital spokesman said she was inthe surgical trauma unit tonight, but did not have an update on her condition. Two other men, driver Donald Hazelton, 59, and his passenger Kenneth Hazelton, 27, both of Continental, Ohio, were transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, the report indicates.

The driver of the third vehicle, Mr. Gregory Ruhe, 58, of Ottawa, Ohio was uninjured.

The accident occurred at the intersection of U.S. 224 and State Rt. 235 at 4:43 p.m., the release said. Mrs. Williamson was stopped traveling westbound on U.S. 224, waiting for traffic to clear to turn southbound on State Rt. 235, when her vehicle was struck from behind by Mr. Ruhe's vehicle.

The collision caused Mrs. Williamson's vehicle to spin and enter the eastbound lane of U.S. 224, where it was struck by Mr. Hazelton's vehicle, the report states.
