FINDLAY — A Benton Ridge, Ohio, woman was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash Friday about eight miles west of Findlay at the junction of U.S. 224 and State Rt. 235.

Hancock County sheriff’s deputies said Dawn Williamson, 40, one of the drivers, was taken by air ambulance to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where a hospital official said she was in critical condition on Saturday. She was driving an MG convertible sports car, and she was ejected from it.

Donald Hazelton, 59, driving a pickup, and his passenger, Kenneth Hazelton, 27, both of Continental, Ohio, were taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries, an accident report states.

The driver of the third vehicle, also a pickup, was Gregory Ruhe, 58, of Ottawa, Ohio; he escaped injury.

Ms. Williamson’s vehicle was stopped on westbound U.S. 224 about 4:45 p.m., waiting for traffic to clear so she could to turn onto southbound State Rt. 235 when her vehicle was struck from behind by Mr. Ruhe’s vehicle.

The collision caused Ms. Williamson’s vehicle to spin and enter the eastbound lane of U.S. 224, where it was struck by Mr. Hazelton’s vehicle, the report states. The accident remains under investigation.
