Authorities are investigating a fire that destroyed a vacant house on North Ontario Street near I-280 in North Toledo today, authorities said.
There were no injuries, according to the Toledo fire department.
Fire crews arrived about 4:55 a.m. and found a house at 1815 N. Ontario engulfed in flames. They attacked the blaze and brought it under control sometime before 7:30 a.m., a fire dispatcher said.
Lt. Matthew Hertzfeld, the fire department spokesman, said what was left of the house was scheduled for demolition. The fire damage was estimated at $10,000, Lieutenant Hertzfeld said.
The Lucas County auditor's Web site lists Floyd Bailey as the owner of the single-story wood frame house. It was built in 1887.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
