Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a vacant house Monday on North Ontario Street near I-280 in North Toledo, authorities said.

Fire crews arrived about 4:55 a.m. and found a house at 1815 N. Ontario engulfed in flames.

Lt. Matthew Hertzfeld, the fire department spokesman, said the house was scheduled for demolition. Damage was estimated at $10,000.

The Lucas County auditor’s Web site lists Floyd Bailey as the owner of the single-story wood frame house, built in 1887.
