Police are investigating the shooting of two brothers Thursday as they sat on their front porch in the 900 block of Norwood Avenue.

The men, identified as John Crutchfield, 19, and Parrish Crutchfield, 25, were taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center after the shooting, which was reported at 1:51 a.m.

John Crutchfield, who was treated and released, was shot in his torso and a foot; Parrish Crutchfield was shot in an arm; he was listed in fair condition Thursday morning, but was not listed as being at the hospital late Thursday, a hospital spokesman said.

The victims reported to police that they were on their front porch when at least two people started shooting from a vacant lot next door.

At least 10 other people, including small children, were inside the home at the time of the shooting. No one inside was hurt, police reported.

Numerous shell casings were found. The home where the brothers live was struck 11 times, police said.
