MONROE — Monroe County sheriff’s deputies are seeking five men between the ages of 16 and 25 who allegedly assaulted four teens gathered in the garage of a home here, broke off the attack, and minutes later resumed it by invading the home.

One of the attackers was carrying a shotgun, the sheriff’s office said. The victims, ages 15 to 17, were inside a garage at the home when five assailants arrived in a dark-colored pickup. The intruders forced their way into the garage and began to fight with the victims.

During the fight that began about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, the homeowner — a father of one of the victims — entered the garage to intervene. He also was assaulted.

After a few minutes, the suspects left the garage, and the victims bolted into the house. Moments later, the suspects returned to the home, gained entry, and rekindled the assault.

The suspects fled in the pickup. The attackers were identified by the victims. No arrests have been made.

None of the victims needed medical attention, deputies said. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 734-240-7700.
