Maumee police are still looking for the driver involved in a recent hit-and-run accident that injured a bicyclist at a busy intersection near the municipal courthouse.

The bicyclist, Thomas Sullivan, 57, was struck by a car about 3:30 p.m. on July 2 as he was riding in the crosswalk on Conant Street at West Dudley Street.

Mr. Sullivan was struck by the car as it turned left from Dudley onto northbound Conant. Witnesses told police the vehicle continued north on Conant and went into the Charter One Bank parking lot.

The car was described as a late model, probably 2009 to 2012, gray Toyota, and driven by a male with facial hair.

“The fact we don’t have any good witnesses is sad. But somebody had to have seen that happen,” Sgt. Timothy Stratton said.

Mr. Sullivan, who is a longtime Maumee resident and manager at the Village Idiot, was taken to a local hospital and is recovering from a pelvic fracture.

Anyone with information about the accident or the vehicle is asked to call Maumee police detectives at 419-897-8905.
