Toledo police, who are investigating circumstances that led to a fatal shooting of a Toledoan in the near-west side early today, have issued a warrant for aggravated murder for a 33-year-old Swanton man.

Police were dispatched on a call about 3 a.m. today to an apartment at 1605 W. Central Ave. at Isabella Street where they found the body of Michael Jackson, 20.

Amber Hayes, who had called 911, reported that her estranged husband had killed Mr. Jackson and was following her and shooting at her car. Police found Ms. Hayes at Hill Avenue and Fearing Boulevard. She told police that David A. Zielinski had shot Mr. Jackson at the West Central Avenue apartment. She told police she was there at the time of the shooting and was able to escape, but that Mr. Zielinski shot at her as she fled. She drove until she felt was was safely away from the suspect, according to police.

Police responding to 1605 West Central found Mr. Jackson who had been shot multiple times, police said.

Mr. Zielinski was last seen driving a 1990 white Ford pickup truck with a black tail gate with the word "BEAST" spray painted on the gate. The truck has hand-painted flames on the side and the truck has a black cap on it. 

Anyone with information about Mr. Zielinski's location is asked to call Toledo police or Crime Stopper.

This is the 14th homicide in Toledo and the 15th in metro Toledo in 2013.
