FREMONT -- Authorities identified a body found in a Fremont home as that of Cody Jackson, 35.

Mr. Jackson resided at the Morrison Street home where he was found dead early Wednesday morning. Police initially could not identify the deceased, but an autopsy was performed early today by the Lucas County coroner’s office.

Police believe the death was accidental. Mr. Jackson was allegedly wearing panty hose and engaged in auto-erotic activity in his bedroom. He was covered in plastic wrap layers from his knees to the top of his head.

Autoeroticism is the practice of stimulating oneself sexually. Many victims intentionally strangle themselves while masturbating because the reduced oxygen to the brain intensifies their orgasm.

Police said they could not determine the man’s identity initially because the body was wrapped, and they wanted to preserve evidence.

An autopsy revealed no signs of struggle, and the door to the bedroom was blocked from the inside, authorities said.

The Sandusky County coroner has yet to sign the death certificate listing the cause of death. Coroner John Wukie could not be reached for comment this afternoon.
