Police investigate shooting of 2 men in fight at Port Lawrence Homes

An altercation among four people in the parking lot Saturday night at the Port Lawrence Homes ended with two of them shot, police said.

Marshawn Murphy, 20, and Glenn Miller, 25, were taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The shootings occurred about 9:20 p.m. in the 200 block of Indiana Avenue. Authorities initially reported a shotgun and a handgun were involved.

One person was questioned as police worked to unravel what happened. One victim was shot in the hip and foot, and the other in the shin, Sgt. William Wauford said.

Neither fired a shot, investigators believe.
