ANN ARBOR, Mich. — An autopsy shows that a University of Michigan medical student died from a single gunshot wound.

Ann Arbor police today announced the findings of the Washtenaw County medical examiner's office.

They also said no firearm was found at the scene of Paul DeWolf's apartment, which was orderly and the valuables appeared to be untouched when officers arrived on Wednesday.

DeWolf failed to arrive for a scheduled assignment at the Veteran's Affairs Hospital that day. The hospital sent a colleague to the home to check on him, and that person discovered the 25-year-old had died.

DeWolf was a 2010 graduate of Grand Valley State University and is from Schoolcraft. He was to graduate from the medical school next spring.
