Toledo police have little to go on, but are hoping the public can come forward with information to help solve the city's most recent homicide.

Rudy Staples, Jr., had just arrived home from a night of playing video games with his cousins when he was shot dead in front of his West Toledo apartment Sunday.

The 29-year-old father of a 7-year-old girl was shot three times: in his abdomen, chest, and a leg.

Mr. Staples was shot at 10:04 p.m. Sunday in front of 1506 Potomac Dr., near Fernwood Avenue, where he'd lived for less than a year.

A witness told police the shooter was a black male wearing a white T-shirt who ran from the scene. No other description was given.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers. Callers may remain anonymous and could qualify for a cash reward.
