Suspect in Fostoria shooting arrested in Cleveland

    FOSTORIA -- A man wanted in a Sunday afternoon homicide in Fostoria was arrested today in Cleveland. 

    The suspect Calvin Dixson, 37, of Perrysburg, is charged with aggravated murder was apprehended by Cleveland Police shortly before noon.

    The wounded woman remains in critical condition at Toledo Hospital, officials said.

    The woman, identified today as Tyeesha Ferguson, 36, suffered “gunshot wounds,” Fostoria police said. Killed in the early-morning attack was Lisa Stowers, 50, who was shot multiple times, officials said.

    The shooting at 245 Bannister St.  was reported at 1:30 p.m.

    At the time of the shooting, Mrs. Ferguson had a protection order against Mr. Dixson.

    Police said the incident appears to have been a “targeted incident involving an estranged ex-boyfriend.”

    Numerous calls were made to 911 after hearing gunshots -- one caller said she was trying to protect her children.

    "We need the police," she said. "Gunshots fired. 245 Bannister Street. Please hurry."

    A second caller reported that a victim was in a car and shot.

    The third and apparently final caller said he had just gotten home from church and was reporting gunshots and that a man was in his car firing a gun.
