Michigan man seriously injured in one-vehicle accident in Monroe County

DEERFIELD, Mich. - A Michigan man was seriously injured today in a one-vehicle accident in Monroe County's Summerfield Township.

Travis Timothy Hauser, 25, of Milan, Mich. was driving his pickup truck northbound on Bragg Road, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said. Upon arriving at the intersection of McCarty Road, authorities said Mr. Hauser disregarded the stop sign, drove through the intersection, and crashed into a ditch along the north edge of McCarty Road at about 2:28 a.m.

Mr. Hauser’s truck rested right side up, straddling the ditch and facing north. Mr. Hauser remained inside the vehicle and was found slumped across the front bench seat, the sheriff's office said. He was not wearing a seat belt, and his vehicle was not equipped with airbags.

Mr. Hauser was flown to Toledo Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
