Police searched Wednesday for the person or persons who fired multiple gunshots late Tuesday on a North Toledo street, hitting one man in his groin.

Bernard Kelly, 18, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment of his wound after the 10:45 p.m. shooting. A spokesman had no information about his condition Wednesday.

The victim told police he and two others were walking along the 1700 block of Walnut Street when someone in the back of a small black vehicle fired several shots. Neither of his companions were shot, although James Barker, 19, had a bullet hole in his left pant leg from a passing round, according to a police report.

Police ask that anyone with information about the shooting call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
