Maumee man killed Saturday afternoon in a car accident in North Toledo

A Maumee man was killed Saturday afternoon in a car accident in North Toledo, police said.

Joseph Miller, 26, of 3445 Manley Rd., was pronounced dead at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center at 3:10 p.m. of multiple blunt force trauma.

Police said Mr. Miller's car collided with the trailer of an empty car hauler truck driven by Eric Rosenogle, 27, of Big Rapids, Mich. 

Mr. Rosenogle was southbound in the 4000 block of Stickney Avenue when he attempted to turn right into a private drive. The trailer was struck by Mr. Miller, police said.

Mr. Miller, who was not wearing a seat-belt, was trapped in his car. Firefighters cut the car open to free him.  

Mr. Rosenogle had minor injuries from the crash.
