Two men in a group of at least four who allegedly robbed a cab driver and a 71-year-old woman were arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court today.

Arvell Harris, 18, of 420 Elder Dr., is charged with aggravated robbery, felonious assault, and robbery. His bond was set at $225,000.

Kesean Harris, also known as Desean Harris, 21, of 110 W. Streicher St., is charged with aggravated robbery, robbery, and obstructing official business. His bond is set at $150,000.

The two are accused of being involved in two Friday robberies in North Toledo.

According to court documents, a driver from the Black & White Cab company was sent to a home in the 1000 block of Baker Street to pick up a rider. There, a woman distracted the man while several men approached, one putting a gun to the driver's head, and robbed him of cash.

One of the men ordered another to shoot the driver; one of the men fired at least twice at the car as the victim drove off.

No injuries were reported.

A 71-year-old woman told police she was leaving church when three men approached her at New Covenant Church, 2519 Stickney Ave., and tried to take her purse.

The woman said she held onto the bag and was pulled to the ground by one of the men. The suspects fled after the woman fell on top of her purse, according to court documents.

She was treated for “minor injuries,” police said.

Friday night, after Arvell Harris was taken into custody and was sitting in the back of a police car in the 1300 block of Moore St., Kesean Harris allegedly approached the police vehicle, according to court documents.

The officer wrote that he stopped Kesean Harris before he could talk to Arvell Harris or let him out of the cruiser.
