Two Toledo firefighters were injured early today while battling a blaze in an East Toledo residential garage that spread to two adjacent garages causing $30,000 in damage.

The fire of suspicious origin started in the garage at 232 White St. near Kelsey Avenue about 4:45 a.m. and spread to neighboring garages at 230 and 234 White, according to Lt. Matthew Hertzfeld, a fire department spokesman.

Lieutenant Hertzfeld, who declined to identify the firemen, said one was treated at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center for a head injury when debris fell on him. The second firefighter was admitted to St. Vincent with a broken leg, suffered when a ladder collapsed and he fell to the floor of one of the garages.
