Downtown streets to shut for Labor Day Parade

8/31/2013

Streets in downtown Toledo’s core will close at 6:30 a.m. Monday for the Labor Day Parade and reopen after the parade ends about five hours later, the city transportation division said.

All streets inside an area bounded by Lafayette, Erie, and Jackson streets will be closed for parade staging, as will be Summit Street between Jackson and Clayton Street.

The parade steps off 9 a.m. on Summit between Washington and Monroe streets, goes north to Adams Street, west to Huron Street, and south to Washington. Huron will be closed from 8 a.m. Sunday through 3 a.m. Monday between Madison and Jefferson avenues for a special event at Our Brother’s Place. No detour will be posted. Closest alternatives: St. Clair or Ontario streets.
