FINDLAY — Findlay police are seeking a man who allegedly tried to kidnap a 12-year-old girl Wednesday on a city street.

While walking near South West and West Front streets about 3:30 p.m., the girl noticed an older, white box-style cargo van pull up behind her, and shortly afterward, she was grabbed from behind. She broke loose and was not injured.

She described her assailant as a white male, perhaps in his 30s, who had tattoos on his fingers near the knuckles and wore a blue jacket. The van had rust around a wheel well and no side windows except on the passenger door. It is believed to have had two rear cargo doors.

Anyone with information is asked to call Findlay police at 419-424-7150 or 419-424-7163.
